Friday, June 26th Combination Holstein & Beef Feeder Sale
Here this past friday we held our Feeder Cattle Sale selling 1450 head. This sale consisted of holstein strs/hfrs, xbred strs/hfrs plus a nice selection of beef cattle. What we have noticed this week more than any other, is we are seeing less of the holsteins and more xbreds as the dairy producers are covering their females with beef bulls. This sale offered a large selection of high quality cattle. There was a large variance of genetics in the sale, which is consistent with the time of the year. The Fed Cattle martket definitely was not friendly to the producers as th fed cattle prices have lost nearly $20 in the month with beef cattle in the mid to upper 90s at the end of this week. The Holsteins/Xbreds held strong, seeing a little weakness in the beef feeders with most pressure on the mixed genetics carrying flesh. Overall we had a very active sale with a large amount of Buyers in the seats from beginning to the end. This being the last feeder sale before the 4th of July Holiday, we would like to wish you and your family a fun and safe holiday weekend. We want to remind you that we are in our Summer Feeder Sale Schedule and Feeder Sales will be on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month. Thank you all for the business!
